Recording Services
Professional-quality audio recording services are available for students and accompanying clients.
If you need to make a recording for an audition or your own archive, you can do this right in our
studio, for a price that is a fraction of the rate charged by a professional recording studio. Your
recording will be suitable for auditions up to and including the college undergraduate level. For elite
graduate and professional auditions a full-service professional recording studio is recommended.
Nearly all audio clips on this site were recorded in the studio.
The usual rate is $50 per hour or part, including time spent setting up, editing, and processing.
CD copies of the recording may be purchased for $5 each. If you need 10 or more CD’s, we can
print labels and case inserts for an additional $1 per CD.
If you need a recording of a piano accompaniment only, Mr. Horowitz can provide that as well. A
surcharge of $5 per page will be added for any piano accompaniment recording made without solo
instrument(s) or voice. You don't have to live in the Washington area to take advantage of this
service; your accompaniment recording can be emailed anywhere or mailed anywhere in the U.S.
If you'd like to make the recording in a favorite recital hall or other location, we can travel to you
for no additional charge beyond time spent in transit.
If you're putting on a studio recital, we can record the whole event with two convenient payment
options: parents pay or teacher pays, both with reasonable, affordable rates. Click here for more
