2022-23 Studio Recitals and Events
We imagine universal participation in these events for all youth students with one+ year experience.
September 24: Fall Performance Workshops begin. Most class are in-person; a few are by Zoom.
Saturday, December 17: Winter Mini-Recital.
January 14: Winter/Spring Performance Workshops begin. We plan for mostly in-person Workshop classes.
April 16: Honors Recital. Scheduled by invitation.
June 2-4: Summer Recital rehearsals at the Studio.
June 10: Summer Recital.
2022-23 Studio Programs Key Dates & Highlights
Participation in these events is optional but encouraged for experienced students. Students, teachers, and parents choose which events and programs are meaningful and useful each individual student.

February TBD: Guest Artist Masterclass, a part of our Performance Workshops program

May 20-21: Recital pre-rehearsals, a part of our Performance Workshops program.
May 29: Deadline for completing 40 Piece Challenge

2022-23 Outside Events
Participation in outside events is optional but encouraged for experienced students. From among many dozens of area events, we've listed only teacher-organized events in which many of our students commonly participate. No single student participates in every event.
Early November TBD: Virginia Music Teachers Association (VMTA) Fall Festival. Non-competitive. Two pieces performed in recorded video format.
Rolling: Royal Conservatory of Music, Toronto Exams (RCM), remote option. Non-competitive. Remote live audition format.
Late November/Early December: Royal Conservatory of Music, Toronto Exams (RCM) in-person option. Non-competitive. Live in-person audition format.
March 10th/11th: National Federation of Music Clubs (NFMC) Festival. Non-competitive. Two pieces performed in short recital format. Our most popular outside event.
February TBD: NVMTA Bach/Baroque Festival. Offers non-competitive and competitive divisions. Two Baroque era pieces performed in short recital format.
Mid May/Early June: RCM Exams, in-person option.
