We accept new students year-round, subject to availability. As we head through the winter, we find ourselves with a mostly full schedule, with just a handful of "prime time" openings including Mondays at 8:00 PM (La), Wednesdays at 3:45 PM (Qiao), Thursdays at 8:00 PM (Qiao), Fridays at 3:45 (La), Fridays at 7:15* (Roberts), Saturdays at 12:45 Noon (Askoff), and Sundays around 1:00* (Askoff).
In addition to these "prime time" openings we also have plenty of of space most weekdays at/before 3:30,* including morning slots on Tuesdays and Fridays.* [*can accommodate siblings back-to-back or concurrently]
IN-PERSON LESSONS In most cases, we are teaching in-person teaching in our beautiful Falls Church studio! A few students may choose remote lessons or a mix of remote and in-person instruction.
REMOTE LESSONS If you're interested in hybrid or remote lessons, you should give special consideration to our wonderful teachers Ziwei Zhou and Aphrodite Mitsopoulou. Both these fine teachers have plenty of space and flexible scheduling for mostly-remote lessons. Remote students have access to both in-person and Zoom workshop classes as well as in-person studio recitals, all of which are free and included within our regular tuition.
BRIGHT STARTS GROUP CLASS OPENINGS We started new-beginner classes on Wednesdays at 5PM and Saturdays at 9:30 AM back in late September. The Saturday class has space for new students to join! LAST CALL - Must join by March 1. This could be a good fit for a new beginner in 1st, 2nd, or young 3rd grade or a lightly experienced student in K, 1st, or 2nd grade. With a few catch-up lessons, you could join the in-progress class. We haven't had mid-year open spaces in a group class since 2019 so this is a rare opportunity to join this unique program. We also have one space available in our "level 2" class meeting Saturdays at 10:30 AM. This is suitable for a 1st/2nd/3rd grader with some prior experience. We plan more new level 1 classes in September 2023. LAST CALL - Must join by March 1.
IF YOU ARE LOOKING TO BEGIN LESSONS... For your convenience, we try to summarize current openings here. But the best way to find out about openings is to just get in touch, now! Regardless of what today's openings are...we always want to hear from interested students/parents in the community. Sometimes, we have flexibility which goes beyond what we can post here. Contact us! We'd love to hear from you.
AGES/LEVELS All our openings are available for all ages and levels.
Student Honors: RCM Exams 2022-23
Monday, January 9, 2023 | Student Awards and Honors
It's still early in the school year, but we have already had several students earn honors in this rigorous but non-competitive event! Unlike most festivals and contest, students need to do more than play one or two pieces, but also to demonstrate a broad base of skill at each level. Learn more about it via rcmusic.com
